International network of artists' programs in science and industry research lab

Arsbioarctica is a collaboration project between the recently founded Finnish Bioart society, the Biological Research Station of the University of Helsinki in Kilpisjaervi Lapland reaching out to the Fine Arts Academy and other university bodies in Helsinki and Finland.

The first projects included "80+1 Kilpisjärvi" a collaboration with Ars Electronica on their telematic journey around the world which took place in 2009. For 80+1 Arsbioarctica realized projects like "Waterflea Circus" and "Midnightsun" and organized a four days conference on climate change with international artists and scientists which was streamed to Linz as well as into the Net.

Arsbioarctica also started with the first of a series of workshops for the Fine Art Academy and will begin its residency program in spring 2010 with 3 residencies until autumn 2010.
